Does the DVD drive on an IBM thinkpad t40 use the same IDE controller as the hard drive?
My IDE controller on the mother board has passed on. I am told as a temporary solution, I can install a hard drive caddy in the DVD tray [with adapter] and boot from this drive.
Same controller, separate channel.
You can still boot from USB.
